Directions to Ben Davis High School from Penn

  • Left (South) on Bittersweet Rd

  • Right (West) on Jefferson Rd.

  • Left (South) on Capital Avenue

  • Right (West) on US 20 By-Pass

  • South on US 31 (to Indianapolis)

  • West on I-465 (North side of Indianapolis)

  • Follow I-465 Around to the West side of Indianapolis

  • Take the Rockville Rd Exit West

  • Left (South) on Girls School Rd

  • Ben Davis HS will be on the right just before you reach 10th Street

 

Contest Location:

The Contest will take place in the football stadium at Ben Davis High School. The Stadium is located West (behind) the high school.

 

Ticket Prices:

Adult tickets are $7.00. Tickets for students and pre-school aged children are $5.00.

 

Entering the Stadium:

Never enter the stadium seating areas while any band is performing. It is best to get a seat before Class A begins (1:00pm). Be a good sport and cheer for all bands.

 

After Our performance:

The band will change out of uniform and have time to eat at the concession stands and listen to the remaining 3 or 4 bands.

 

Awards Ceremony:

The awards ceremony is scheduled for 6:12pm. At this time, 10 of the 20 bands will be announced as advancing to the State Finals Contest on October 31st at the Lucas Oil Stadium.

 

Return to Penn:

We will return to Penn at approximately 11:00pm. Students will need to unload the trailers and put equipment away before they are dismissed.

WEEK # 7 – ISSMA Semi-State at Ben Davis High School (Ten Bands Advance to Finals)

 

This Week: Wednesday 3:50-6:00pm

Thursday 6:15-9:00pm

Friday 6:00pm report for Football Game

 

Saturday, October 24th

Bring the following items

      • Bring enough money for two fast food stops plus concession at the contest

      • Bring clothes to change into after our performance

      • Be sure to bring or wear an under-layer of clothing that will be appropriate for changing on or near the buses at Ben Davis.

      • Bring uniform items, black socks, marching shoes, band t-shirt, gloves

      • Bring rehearsal items, water, hat, poker chips, coordinate sheets

 

Weekend Schedule

6:00pm Dress for football game performance

10:30am Buses depart for Indianapolis, trucks leave as soon as possible

1:00pm fast Food Stop in Carmel

3:00pm Arrive at Ben Davis High School

  • Restrooms

  • Dress into full uniform

  • Quiet Section Time (no organized movement that could be confused as physical warm-up)

3:40pm Physical Warm-Up (color guard may spin)

4:09pm Music Warm-Up

4:54pm Performance

6:12pm Awards Ceremony

6:30pm Meet at the buses

7:00pm Buses leave (trucks leave early if ready)

Buses – 45 minute dinner stop on the way home

11:15pm Arrive at Penn – unload trucks, put equipment away, dismissed
