The Penn Winter Guard season is here!

 

What: Guard is the visual expression of music. We use flags, rifles, sabres, and dance to do this. Winter guard is an awesome opportunity to make new friends, learn skills, and have fun during the winter months!

Who: Any girls in grades 7-12
When:
Monday, Nov 14: 5-8. River Valley Church
Thursday, Nov 17: 5-8. Grissom M.S. Gym (nov/dec schedule handed out at this prac)
*Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move around easily.
Why: If you are interested in joining or even just curious about this activity called guard, we invite you to come out and see what it's all about! You'll meet the 4 staff members: Director: Jen Buckholz, Staff: Liz Leather, Kate Neilson, and Kali Marquart.

Jazz Performance Featuring Terell Stafford and the Northern Illinois University Jazz Ensemble

Join the Penn High School Jazz Ensembles as we host the Northern Illinois University Jazz Ensembles on Friday, November 18th at 7 p.m. in the Penn High School Center for the Performing Arts (56100 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545).  Trumpet extraordinaire Terell Stafford will be featured throughout the performance.  For those of you who have not seen Terell play, here is a link to a video clip from his performance at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival in 2010:
 

Contratulations Marching Kingsmen!

The Penn Marching Kingsmen finished a wonderful performance on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium for the ISSMA State Finals.  they placed 7th out of 10.  Here are the placements:

Penn Marching Kingsmen Move on to State Finals

The Marching Kingsmen made it through the next round, and will be one of the 10 bands competing on Saturday, October 29th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.  This will be the 9th year in a row Penn has made it to the finals.  Congratulations Penn Marching Kingsmen!  The competing Bands, and order are listed after the break.
